Guess who’s coming to town?By: Franck | April 14th, 2010
AC Milan and AC Fiorentina, that’s who.
The Montreal Impact announced today that we’ll be facing a couple of legendary clubs, mostly for everyone to make money, but also to show off Montreal as an important city for North American footy. I suppose you can say that we’ve already shown that on a couple of occasions, but hey, now we can show it again.
AC Fiorentina visits the Impact on Sunday, May 23 at 2pm at Saputo Stadium, while AC Milan visits the Impact on Wednesday, June 2 at 8pm at the Olympic Stadum. Tickets for the first match go on sale this Friday, while the tickets for the second match go on sale next Friday.
I’m happy, and I’m sure many Italian and other European football fans are happy by this announcement, however, the dates on which these matches happen fall in a rather bad spot. Not only do we have league matches, we also have Nutrilite Canadian Championship matches and now, these two friendlies. 15 games in 50 days. That’s a lot of footy. Great for the fans, not great for the players.
This is what our schedule looks like:
(NCC) means Canadian Championship matches.
Sunday April 25 2pm Impact – Portland Timbers
