Impact 1, Timbers 1
By: Franck | April 26th, 2010It was opening day at Stade Saputo yesterday and the Montreal Impact stole two points away from the Portland Timbers after Nevio Pizzolito converted a penalty in the 81st minute. Roberto Brown was taken down in the box moments before. The Impact tied the game after Portland’s Ryan Pore scored in the 67th.
The offense wasn’t convincnig enough, though Reda Agourram showed promise and Felipe Soares sent a few decent balls up thru the Portland defense. David Testo looked like a man who recently came back from an injury, while the D line was sloppy at time, but not as a whole horrendous.
A good 20 or so Timbers fans came from places as far away as Oregon and as close as New Hampshire to cheer on the Portland club. One fan I chatted with had even borrowed a drum from a New England Revolution supporter.
Wednesday we face TFC in Toronto in the first match of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship. We better be ready.
