Rock bottom?
By: Franck | July 20th, 20095 games without a goal. Nice. Once again, we let a team beat us at home. Genious. It seems to me that Puerto Rico is about as ready as ever for the CCL. Kudos to them.
To top things off, Sandro Grande was released today, his contract rescinded because his gesture against team captain and player-coachMauro Biello was a “breach of contract”. Club President Joey Saputo was the man to make the decision.
I won’t go into details about why his decision was or wasn’t a matter of it being against the team captain, or him being part of the club’s “clique”, but let’s just say that for the true fans of this club (and not the people who write comments on RDS or Radio-Canada who know nothing about the team and feel the need to mention the Montreal Canadiens or Alouettes), this is a big loss. Although no one on this team has had a good season, Grande still poured his heart and soul into this team and gave a good effort each game.
With Roberto Brown and Adam Braz out next game with suspensions (Brown got a red card, Braz collected five yellows), we face the Cleveland City Stars on Wednesday. How bad can we do against another terrible team such as Cleveland? Stay tuned, this could be funny. We haven’t quite hit rock bottom yet.
