Where teams go to die (or give up 3 points)
By: Franck | June 27th, 2009We’re facing the Portland Timbers tomorrow. In Portland. I’m not expecting much from Montreal. Not much at all. Portland has given up a grand total of 2 goals at in 6 games at home this season. They’re also undefeated at home this year.

We’ve been doing well as of late (minus the Nutrilite Canadian Championship), with a 5-1-1 record in our last 7 USL games, not that most of those were particularily impressive showings. Also, with Stefano Pesoli out, and Roberto Brown at home in Panama for personal reasons, and Adam Braz uncertain, I’m not sure how well we’re going to do on both ends of the turf.
I’m hoping we’ll do OK. A tie would be impressive considering Portland’s record at home. I’d prefer a strong showing this time around.

Well we (the Islanders) are cheering for you! Time to get back in 2008 form, and to keep the Timbers at bay.
It’s time for Portland to go back down and play with the bottom dwellers, just like last year.

Hehe…do I smell a bit of an Islanders/Timbers rivalry?
But hey, thanks for the support!
